Tonight we spent drinking honey wine (or mead or vikings’ juice, depending on who is naming it) in our neighborhood park while listening to Modest Mouse practice over the sounds of other park-goers. Eating smoked king salmon, fresh fontina cheese, and the years’ first batch of Ranier cherries really can remind a girl how simple the good life can be (or, at the very least – how good dinner can be!). I was hanging out with three dudes who are all self-employed… Their freedom to schedules, clarity of thought and reluctance to operate out of rhythm with themselves is not just inspirational, but damn near frustrating to not be on the same page with. Then again, I did buy the fish + cheese…
